Please try and keep yourselves calm to allow everyone to study for their exams in peace. Yes, they are coming. Yes, school is nearly finished. No you shouldn't use this as an excuse. NEWTS and OWLS are some of the most important tests you'll ever take. They are the first and last school tests that you'll take that actually matter. Study, but keep yourself at peace the best you can. You'll just stress out your peers and elders otherwise.

To whom it may concern, Aurors do in fact have a sense of humour. That doesn't mean we like foolish pranks. Also Scots do not do these juvenile pranks, so they're wasted. It doesn't phase me sit on whoopie cushions or to get a fake snake or spider left in the office. It isn't cute. It isn't funny. I know this journal may be late, but that's simply because I left my journal on my desk and it somehow got filthy with some sticky substance. This has been my first chance to write since cleaning it and no, I just felt no need to write while it was messed up.
Now I just have to trust Cho won't mention that I fell for a Canary Cream. Bloody Weasleys.

I assumed too much obviously. I need my shirt returned to be in whatever condition it may be in at this time. I do not have money to waste on new clothes willy nilly. To save you embarrassment, you can owl it back to me with a school owl.

As it's been mentioned by several other students and a Prefect in the journals that yes, a certain holiday is coming up. Please do try to be aware of your environment. Blocking passages with snogging is inappropriate. A quick peck between classes is harmless. Groping at any time or place is highly inappropriate. Holding hands is acceptable. We are not under the rules of Madam Umbridge, but try to be respectful of others, your superiors, staff, and peers. Pretend your parents are around the corner if you have to.

I should hope everyone's holiday was safe and you'll all be ready for school again. Yes, the Aurors will return as well. The alumni will not. That's as official as this entry will be, sorry.
I had Christmas Eve with a couple of friends. Dad and I got up early and exchanged our own presents so I could pop over to Mum's. Kenny's just young enough to still believe in everything. It's cute, he asked about Father Christmas coming to my house. Dad sent his present over with me, he didn't want to have a row with Mum. He's a good man, he signed it Father Christmas. Mum gave me a funny look, but she knows Dad just would like us to be a family again just once in a while. He likes Kenny. He sees a lot of me when I was a lad in Kenny, so it's not shocking.
I've been catching up with myself a lot during this time. I'm as caught up on my paperwork as I can be and have made a point to stop in the library every chance I can manage. It's nice reading for recreation once in a while. I advice it for anyone.

Remember that Aurors are not the first place to go for problems. Let's all note this while we only have one in action. Thank you. The more we let Auror Chang be, the faster she'll recover, so let's also try not to be a pest to her either. As it is December, please keep in mind your safety when going to classes that are accessed by the outdoors. Potential ice threats have been dealt with as best they can be, so report anything that's been missed. I'm sure someone will get to it. I also advice everyone to take special care not to fall ill. It's quite common this time of year and is best to avoid. If you don't have warm enough things, don't just wait for the break, owl home for your parents to send them to you.

I hope everyone's readjusting. Don't let the ghosts distract you. They mean you no harm, but do try to be respectful. Throwing things at Richard any of the ghosts won't do anyone any good. I've found that should any of them be causing trouble, most particularly Gunar, it's best to not bring it to us, but to make mention of it to Brina. Again, there is no need to report ghosts behavior to us or your Prefects unless your Prefects have a knack for chatting with ghosts and straightening them out. I don't.
Yes, I was burned on the job recently. Please don't ask to see or touch any part of me because it might be burnt and thus "look cool/gross" or any other odd idea you might get into your head. It was a serious injury, one that I'm still recovering from.

It's good to see everyone settling in with the shift in the Quidditch routine. I think it'll promote school unity over House unity which is necessary these days.

Any and all issues, including smells, disputes, space issues, Quidditch issues, windows, and everything else please send them in a written format to the Head Mistress or the Aurors Office and all problems will be dealt with considering both promptness of the submission and need of resolution. Things such as weapons being removed from the walls in the girls' dormitory will be dealt with quicker than a stupid student losing a sock. Also, do not attempt to remove weapons from the walls or tamper with anything that seems cursed, hexed, breakable, or some other state that suggests you not touching it.
I'd like to extend my personal thanks to the alumni students for not causing trouble so far as I've heard. Let's keep it that way.

It's been decided that with how much time Dad's been spending working and the fact that my job will be taking me to work at this new school that I'll be taking Donny with me. Old mongrel still has bite and a good sturdy bark. I haven't seen where they'll be keeping me, but I can't imagine this will be a problem. Should it be, then he'll just be staying at my mum's. Kenny will love it, but Eliot is allergic I've heard. Mum won't be too thrilled either. So hopefully he can come with me.

Well, the Ministry's all righted now. As righted as it can be. There was an impromptu election since the old Minister is out of commission and we can't very well take Fudge back in. It was biased, but not in a way I mind. Shacklebolt has always been a brilliant man in my opinion. The right people are in charge there now, so no one worry about that much at least. With the amount of casualties and turncoats, positions are shifting around and I'm not exactly sure who's where. I'm officially an Auror now. They decided that everything else was better than any training I'd get outside of understood war times. It's nice to have something that isn't completely hexed for once.

We are not moving ever again. If we do have to move, we are not driving. I can't. I won't. I absolutely refuse. If we have to, I'm not driving. I will navigate. I will not be the one to maintain the cars. Fred Weasley will not be getting our vehicles. Neither will George. I'm sure he'd do the same thing and get lousy automobiles.
I saw you Fred. I hope you saw me too. I appreciate you waving when I was broken down.

Could we all remember to turn off the telly at the end of the night and not to run it so loudly. It's irritating. I've been checking after and it's always on when I get down there. I leave it on sometimes to watch the news before I sleep down there when the boys are restless, but that's not the point. It saves electricity. And please remember to hex it private when you have to talk to people outside of the hide out. It'll save us a lot of trouble and keep us all safer. Anyone they're talking to, I'd like to ask you to remind them of this as well.

I'm happy to see some of us have calmed after that incident. Let me assure you all that we're keeping a better eye on the wiring and fuses and the rest of that business. I'm taking a personal hand at it and if there's any adults well, anyone that thinks they could properly help, I'd appreciate that. I'd rather manage it myself with my books.
I'd like to make a demand special request to our students that they please try to be punctual. This house is only so large and while we can find you we would rather you come of your own accord. Everyone needs some sort of education so this year isn't completely wasted. Honestly, you'll go back to Hogwarts and all your little friends will be ahead of you in Charms or something like that. And study. If I hear that anyone with poor marks is spending too much time around the telly, then I will be making myself personally responsible for you. This is not something you want. It means no telly unless it's educational.
If I'm need, pretend I'm not please. I have a lot of papers to go over and Ted Tonk's handwriting to read. I doubt I'll be found, so good luck.
